About The Hideaway Camping & Caravan Park
West Cork Location
In a rural setting, just a ten minute walk by pavement and street lighting from the thriving West cork town of Skibbereen, visitors will find this 4-star family run park. Recommended by Alan Rogers, ANWB, ACSI, ADAC, Camping Wijzer and Guide de Routard.
The Hideaway offers a full range of modern facilities to families. Caravans and motorhomes, all with hardstanding are catered for, while a separate, tranquil area is provided for guests with tents. Families can enjoy ball games in the specially designated area, play a game of pool or have fun on the fantastic playground. Guests can enjoy relaxing walks with their pets along the Caol stream.
Skibbereen is a bustling market town, where visitors can enjoy superb shopping and a wide selection of pubs and restaurants,
with the relaxed and friendly atmosphere that has made West Cork famous. The town has many attractions including the Heritage Centre and the West Cork Arts Centre. Visitors can enjoy a game of golf in the nearby 18-hole course, or avail of the many other activities the area has to offer including sea angling, coarse fishing, scenic walks, scuba diving and moonlight kayaking and whale watching.
The town is an ideal base to discover the nearby quaint and scenic coastal villages of Glandore, Union Hall, Castletownsend, and Schull. Lough Hyne, Ireland?s first Marine Nature Reserve and only salt water lake is just a 10 minute drive, while Baltimore with its ferries to the Islands of Sherkin and Cape Clear is just a 15 minute drive.
Regrettably we are unable to accommodate commercial vehicles. For safety reasons we do not permit the use of bicycles,
skateboards and scooters in the park. We ask all visitors to observe the courtesy of a quiet and peaceful ambience after 10.30pm.

- We really enjoyed camping here. We felt very welcome and at ease. The facilities are just what you need when you’re on the road. The showers are brilliant. There is a lovely walk for the dogs and the grounds are kept really well. Stayed August 2023
- Amazing campsite – 5 stars – I cannot rate this campsite highly enough. Myself and my 7 year old son had a fantastic stay camping(ins spite of the rain) in fact we were initially meant to stay a week but we decide to stay on for another 3 days. Leanne in reception is so helpful and such a lovely person. The site is immaculate at all times, including the loos, showers and kitchen area. The pitches are well laid out with plenty space between. The play area is such a great addition and there is the most fabulous safe and long run for dogs down by a stream, its a beautiful walk. The location is fantastic for so many destinations in all directions and it has a safe walk right into the town. 5+ Stars and we cannot wait to go back. Stayed July 2023
- Fantastic campsite – Myself and my family made the trip to Skibbereen in 2 campers. We had rang ahead during the week and reserved 2 spaces for the weekend. Fantastic campsite from start to finish of our trip. We meet Leanne and Jerry when we arrived and got a great welcome. She had kept us pitches side by side and advised us best on how to park to set up our own little private patch. Toilets were spotless and the showers were the same and plenty of hot water day or night. 5 adults stayed and there wasn’t one thing that any of us could say negatively about the campsite. Playground and pool table for younger children and within short walking distance of the town. Highly recommend a stay here! Stayed July 2023
