Reviews

  • Impeccable site with super friendly staff – We spent 3 nights over the May bank holiday weekend 2022 at Sandilands. We pitched in the grass with a Motorhome (2 adults and 2 kids) and our friends had their caravan (2 adults 2 kids). We were pitched next to each other. The pitch sizes are generous. The overall site is maintained to a very high level with grass areas, fencing, roadways very well presented. This is one of the best kept camp sites on the island of Ireland. The site has direct access to the beach, which is perfect for a dip or a walk. The toilet and shower facilities are modern, warm, and immaculately kept. The wash up facilities are again super modern, clean and warm. I assume the large number of Solar panels on the roof of the main building provide the facility hearing and hot water. It’s the only campsite I’ve been too where the wash up facilities room is warm and super modern. The staff are very hard working. They are always about cleaning, mopping etc. They are very friendly, courteous and chatty with campers. Check in and check out very straight forward. The surrounding area is great for a walk e.g beach and also Lane on the left just outside the gate of the campsite, brings you along backroads towards Cranfield beach) This is a perfect long weekend stay. I highly recommend it. Date of stay: May 2022
  • The best caravan site we have stayed in so far. – I have done several Caravan/Motorhome sites 5 star reviews before, and if they were 5 star this needs to be a 6 star! This site along the beach is beautifully laid out and maintained. The facilities have far exceeded any of the many sites we have visited in NI, ROI and Scotland. The spacing between us in the “touring “ section was generous and the hook up with electricity and water easy. With a hard stand allocated to each pitch and being level this place did all it could to make the experience good. The toilets and showers were accessed by an electronic fob and were Hotel standard with piped music and radio all day long. There was a club house with pool tables and other games and great facilities for dishwashing, laundry and waste disposal. The motor home service spot was excellent apart from very tight turn to exit it that required a 3 or even 5 point turn. And there was a portable coffee shop onsite daily and ice cream van that visited too. To top it off the welcome we received from Rachel and Wayne, the delightful couple who manage the site, was warm and genuine. We really felt like honoured guests. Thanks for a great experience. Hope to be back soon.
